Who own Elite DJ's?
My name is Corrie and myself, along with my lovely wife Lindsay are the owners of Elite DJ's.
How long have you been in business?
I have been in the DJ business for 18 years and Elite has been operating since 1999.
How many DJ's work for Elite?
There are 17 DJ's that DJ for Elite DJ's and our numbers are always growing. We break our DJs down into different categories so when you book with us you will know what level your DJ will be at. Our most junior DJ is 18 years old and she is just in the training stages with Elite DJ's right now. Our most senior DJ has been a DJ for 35 years and has thousands of dances under his belt. All of our DJ's go through the Elite DJ's training program, to ensure that they are going to be able to provide you with the best event possible!
Who answers the phone when I call?
When you call Elite DJ's you will get to talk to Serena. Serena has been a DJ for 16 years now and is very very knowledgable. She has played in pretty much every venue in Saskatoon and has been taking bookings and giving out information for the last 10 years.
Where does Elite get its equipment from?
Elite DJ's is a distributor for about 60 different sound, lighting and video companies. We are constantly turning over our gear to keep it new and keep it up with the latest changes in technologies. Our lighting is now 70% LED which means less energy being used and longer lasting life on the lighting bulb effects. We are still on schedule to have all of our lighting turned over to LED by the beginning of 2013.
How many weddings does Elite DJ's do in a year?
Elite has been doing more and more weddings every year. In 2008 we did 67 weddings. In 2009 we did 76 wddings, in 2010 we did 87 and in 2011 we have done 132 weddings.
Why such a big increase in 2011?
Elite brought some very key people into the company in the last couple of years. We brought Serena on staff which had a very huge and instant impact on our bookings. We also added Marc who brings with him 35 years of DJ experience. DJ Bigshow not only brings 15 years of DJ experience but also adds some diversity in his areas of expertise - he knows lighting. If you go to a concert at Credit Union Center in Saskatoon, look way up to the spotlights and you will see Bigshow running on of those spots. Then as you are leaving , you will see him and his better half Raina helping with the tear down. Raina is a professional photographer who helps bring some of our ideas to life - thank you very much for sharing your talents in doing the profile pictures for our DJ's.
